NURTURE YOUR SOUL
A wonderful way to nurture your inner yogini is through writing. Keep a journal nearby, on your night stand or in your trendy hand bag, so you can begin your soul searching anytime or anywhere.
If you are a night writer, reflect on your day, maybe you had a deeper experience during your Yoga practice or a new opportunity at work. If you are an early birdie, set your intentions for the day. Jot down your goals and the steps you are taking to reach them and how you will make the most of this new day. The sky is the limit when journaling, the power of the pen is literally in your hands and you can create your own journey.
Writer's block rearing it's frustrating head? Go old school and start with brainstorming ideas that you would like to write about, make lists, or even spell your name down the page and pen adjectives that correspond with the letters in your name. Whatever it takes to get going. Here is our old school example:
N nourishing atmosphere
U unique indiviuals
R relaxing spa services
T tranquil vibe
U ultra saavy yoginis
R rejuvenating Yoga & revitalizing Zumba
E empowering others
Happy Soul Searching.
Namaste.

NURTURE YOUR BODY
Nurture your body with your regular yoga practice. Yoga improves your posture and flexibility while connecting your mind and body through breath.
A wonderfully nurturing pose is Child's Pose (Balasana). Kneel on your mat and sit down on your heels. With knees hip width apart fold your torso over your thighs as you exhale. Your arms fall next to your outer thighs, palms up while your forehead rests on your mat. Big toes touching and knees apart will look like aV. With your breath and awareness notice the release of tension in the neck and shoulders. Rest in Balasana for ten to fifteen deep breaths. The perfect pose for winding down in the evening and preparing for restful sleep.
It's like giving yourself a full body hug.
Namaste.

NURTURE YOUR MIND
Quiet the busy monkey mind with daily meditation. If you cannot always find the time to make it to your Yoga/Meditation class be DIAH saavy. Do It At Home by carving out a small space that is just for you and set aside at least ten minutes each day. Choose a space that makes you feel comfortable and happy, away from excess noise, unless of course you are a rockstar that can tune it out. Kudos.
Outside, if you have a lovely back yard or deck, tack up gauze curtains or sheer fabric for a cabana effect. Inside, find a window or corner of a room, place a religious icon on the wall or a candle, if it makes you feel cozy. Hey, why not choose your closet if you have enough floor space amidst your favorite footwear, although I would not recommend lighting a candle in that situation.
We all know that space is not usually the biggest issue, it's time!!! Nurture your mind by taking the time. We can all find at the very least ten minutes in our busy schedules to take time for ourselves, pencil it in. Even if the idea seems counter productive, we truly can accomplish so much more by slowing down.
Not quite prepared to join the slow down movement? I recommend reading The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh, in which he suggests turning run of the mill chores into daily meditations. Drinking a cup of tea, washing the dishes, and doing the laundry can morph into a form of meditation when we become mindful of each step. Namaste.

Hello All and Welcome to the official BE NURTURED blog
Nurture Day Spa & Yoga Studio has created this space for you to receive a daily dose of NURTURING. Look forward to tips, tricks, ideas, recipes, reminders, meditations and yoga poses to nurture your inner and outer yogini self. A little blurb about my present self, the author that will be delivering your mind, body, and soul nourishing posts. I am a happily married fashionista yogini with an entrepreneurial spirit constantly searching for creative expression. A Licensed Aesthetician that pictured a life of skincare that somehow ended up as a Manager for a wonderful little Day Spa & Yoga Studio. Is it possible that I stumbled upon this responsibility due to the encouragement of the lovely owner? Well, yes, the owner of this soulful adventure is my mom. We are partners in the sense that we created and realized the idea for NDSYS together, yet she remains the Yogini who is continuously menoring me on the vast world of entrepreneurship. I have a lot to learn and enjoy travelling down the path of knowledge every single day. Namaste.
